Our highly awaited movie OPEN by Director Daniel Etura and shot in Israel in 2013 is finally online for everyone to see! YAY!
Back in 2013, 14 of us coming from 11 different countries, got together in one of the most conflicted places on earth to skate, open our minds and bring some joy to a place living in extreme conflict.
Ishtar Bäcklund from Sweden, Cami Best from Jamaica/US, Valeria Kechichian from Argentina/Spain, Jacky Madenfrost from Venezuela/Spain, Gina Mendez from Panama, Katie Nielson from Canada, Marisa Nuñez from Peru/US, Eider Paredes from Spain, Amanda Powell from US, Jenna Russo from Australia, Gádor Salís from Spain, Cristina Sánchez from Spain, Micaela Wilson from US and Cindy Zhou from US.
It was indeed a lifetime experience that challenged our skills, invited us to explore new cultures, meet its people and habits and leave a strong, female empowering message while doing so.
During our stay and after, we contributed with the Association ‘Longboarding For Peace’ that aimed to bring together Muslim, Jew, Arab & Catholic kids through sports and leisure activities. We all gathered to teach them how to skate and play games, showing that skateboarding doesn’t know about gender, religion or politics.
Director Daniel Etura did an amazing job with the scrip and edit, contrasting images of women in the 50’s with our skating clips around Israel.
The original soundtrack of the movie features artists such as Devendra Banhart, Frank Turner, CSS, Fuel Fandango, Kubinski, Jay Malinowski, Smile, RF Extreme, Chris Zabriskie and Kellee Maize who’s support and commitment to the project have been amazing. Thank you!

We specially want to thank you all for the trust, patience and support.
We took a long time to release this movie online due to commercial commitments (through the years the movie was sold to different TV channels and airlines around the world) and we couldn’t release it sooner.
Things have changed a lot since we shot and premiered this movie in 2013/2014 but we still believe that with projects like these we keep reinforcing the role of women in the sports scene worldwide and in society in general, changing stereotypes and empowering humans around the world.
To all female & non-binary riders of the world: THIS ONE IS FOR YOU… KEEP SHREDDING!
