Through our journey working with girls and women all over the world, supporting and empowering ourselves we have learnt some of the most valuable lessons to thrive together into this new era where we have redefined women’s perception, not only from outside (i.e. society..) but the perception we have of ourselves.
Unlearning many of the norms, commands and cultural visions is a big part of that change.
From a young age we’re taught and shown that our periods are a burden. How uncomfortable, painful and -basically gross- thing they are. We’re taught periods are not something to be celebrated but some sort of “punishment”.
Since we discovered menstrual cups, our own perception of our periods have changed drastically. Living conscious menstruations have shifted our own relationship with our bodies and have healed many of those things we were once taught to hate.
Having conscious menstruations means celebrating each part of the menstrual cycle: being more connected to our own bodies, celebrating the wonderful process that happens inside our bodies and that makes life on Earth possible. Means giving your blood back to the planet (using it to fertilise your plants or trees) and harmonising the whole Planet’s cycle of life. If you want to know more about conscious menstruations click HERE.
Besides having more conscious menstruations, we have mentioned many of the other benefits of a menstrual cup several times:
- Saving tons of $$ in tampons and pads through a lifetime
- No more chemicals in touch with our body
- Creates zero waste for the Planet
Organicup has been supporting our community for a year and we’re honoured to work side by side with a company we share values with. Not only we’re in love with their products but with their commitment towards education and social projects, as they donate cups to many girls and women in unprivileged areas in third world countries and make sure to provide education along side.
