Exactly 40 years ago – in 1977 – a group of youngsters in Florence discovered the existence of skatebord, learned how to skate and chose as their favourite home spot the Viale Poggi. Today like 40 years ago, on June 4th, skaters will be again riding Viale Poggi during the Florence Open Skate “the Longskate event with the most beautiful view in the world”. Once again this year Fortezza Asd, the longskate association of Florence, is organizing the event which has become a “cult” among the longskate events in Italy. This year’s will be the 6th edition.
Riders of any kind and age coming from every part of Italy and also from Europe take part at the event which sees also the presence of a lot of girls. A day of shredding all together in a relaxing and festive atmosphere, in a location famous all over the world for the amazing view of Florence. The event is sponsored by the Comune di Firenze and by many italian and european producers and distributors of longskate.

Giusto 40 anni -nel 1977- fa alcuni ragazzi fiorentini scoprirono l’esistenza dello skateboard, impararono ad andarci e ben presto elessero il viale Poggi come uno il loro home spot preferito. Oggi come allora, il 4 giugno, gli skaters saranno ancora una volta sul Viale Poggi per il Florence Open Skate, “l’evento di Longskate con il panorama più bello del mondo”. Fortezza Asd organizza anche quest’anno il Florence Open Skate -ormai alla sesta edizione- è diventato un vero e proprio “classico” tra gli eventi di Longskate in Italia.
