Longboard Girls Crew proudly presents West Coastin’, an audiovisual project shot this summer in California, premiering Friday on our YouTube Channel.
“The idea of West Coastin’ came up one night in Amanda’s apartment in Santa Monica when us five girls (Amanda Powell, Marisa Nunez, Daisy Johannes, Ishtar Backlund and Pam Diaz) were about to all go our separate ways after spending some amazing days skating together. The friendship and love for the sport that bonded us sparked our imaginations and inspired us to think of different ways to continue our adventure. What began as a pipe dream, became a master plan that we started executing immediately.
We dropped all of our personal plans to take a two week long adventure up the beautiful west coast. We began in Los Angeles and our final destination was Goldendale, Washington, where we took part in the first-ever Maryhill She-Ride (an unprecedented female freeride).
This first episode shows our first days on the road, visiting spots in Malibu and then Santa Barbara, meeting new and old friends. We captured the essence, the experiences, and images entirely by ourselves.
Many thanks for the generous support of all the sponsors who believed in us and made our vision a reality. Friday 26th is the premier of West Coastin’, the first episode of three. We hope you are inspired by our project for girls, by girls – showcasing that passion, friendship, and teamwork can make dreams come true.
